I'd like to get some additional information specifically about this Drexler jersey, but also just info in general about these Climacool NBA jerseys with the "GU" serial number, which obviously (in this case) have no chance of being game worn. I was under the impression that the whole idea of putting these numbers on jerseys was to ensure that A) only game used jerseys had the feature, and B) each piece would be cataloged in a database which would then be accessible to someone, somewhere at a later date for identification purposes. I just got off the phone with Stuart at MeiGrey and he informed me that teams make jerseys like this all the time whether just for fun or for promo purposes, they don't have to be game worn, or worn at all. Further, they have no record of the jersey at MeiGrey and there is no one to contact within the NBA either. What gives???

Maybe someone who owns a documented 2010-11 NBA gamer can check this, as I had a passing thought: might the "Made In Thailand" tag in the collar be a sign that this was not made for game use? It's a thought...I'm hoping a Forum member can confirm or deny this.

I have a Mavericks jersey from Meigray from the 2010-2011 season. It has the Made in Thailand tag in the collar.

all NBA jerseys starting from last year are all made in thailand. first time NBA using jerseys from out of the country. the specific serial number,,from what i gather a year later, is all crap... it means nothing and no data base for it

Are these serial numbers not at all specific like we were 1st lead to believe, or is there just no database to keep track of them? Looks like someone dropped the ball on what should have been a good move.

Maybe Meigray could at least assure that they have a database for the jerseys that they are involved in selling through their program. It would be a start (but worth nothing is again the s/n are non specific).

Here's the link for the database. I checked when my Mavericks jersey was shipped to me and it was not in the database. That was a couple months ago. I checked the other day and it's now listed just as the letter states. I think they might be behind, and I don't know how they determine which jerseys to put in the database, but it does exist and is used for some jerseys.

I can tell you my jersey that I received directly off of Dwight Howard's back as he walked off the court is not entered in the database either.

I would assume that the only codes entered in the database are those that go through Meigray in which they got directly from the team.
