I bought this 1981 Adirondack today. Any thoughts on the missing "Ring" around the handle? I tried to search for previous discussions about this, but was unsuccessful.

most likely a factory oversight

Now that I think about it, there may have been a factory strike...There was a post on here a few months ago that dealt with this issue...Maybe someone can dig it up to confirm one way or another.....
