There is a black "X" on the year tag.

When talking with people at the Twins Pro Shop they told me they would put a black "X" on the year tag of extra jersey's ordered for a season but not used.

Does anyone know if the Red Sox did something similar.

It sure looks like somewhere along the line it was found that the "X" would rub or wash out of this jersey.

When you see a tag Xed or crossed out, or if you see a tag cut/clipped, this often means that it was a factory leftover. Stay away. There are exceptions (the Braves have been known to write different things on their tags, including BA/BF for Braves Auction/Braves Foundation and putting Xes on their tags at times) but for the most part these jerseys are just leftovers that have been marked as such and have found their way to the secondary market where sellers try to dump them onto unsuspecting collectors.

Also, this jersey is a 1995, size 52, just like the other one. Did Roger wear a size 52 in 1995? Seems like that would be too big. Either way, an odd coincidence to see two 1995 Clemens size 52 jerseys (that are, at the very least, highly questionable - I'm being polite) in about a week's time.
