Kevin Mitchell 1989 Playoff bats -NLCS and ALCS ??

Here are two Kevin Mitchell 1989 Playoffs bats, one correctly stamped NLCS while the other is stamped ALCS. Not sure how he played in both!!

yes, pretty bizarre. My only other Giants error bats are two Pablo Sandoval bats stamped 'Freddy Sandoval'...

Actually I've seen NLCS misprinted as NCLS on one bat in the past but never a mismatch of the leagues.

As a rookie to game used bats, I am not quite sure how they arrive at a 9.5 grade on this. I watched Mitchell's at bats during the NLCS that year and could not see any evidence of this bat being used during any game (granted I could have missed something and the bat was not always clear). I assume, in theory, this could have been used by him in the WS and/or the following season? I guess as well it could have been used earlier in 1989. When exactly are LCS bats issued to players? I have a lot to learn so I am curious of any insight.

LCS bats in 1989 would have been issued before the LCS starts so mid Sept 1989 in this case. Judging from the use it could very well have been used in 1990 by Mitchell
