Kranepool '79 road jersey

Ed Kranepool '79 road jersey on ebay, listed by the same seller that recently offered a Giants Tito Fuentes jersey. The authenticity of the Fuentes jersey was disputed here, on another thread.

I've included two of the seller's pictures, a front and back view of the ebay Kranepool jersey -- and one of my own pictures (a small one; front and back in one single shot) of a different '79 road Kranepool, for comparison's sake. The ebay jersey doesn't look right. Any other opinions?

What I was mainly getting at is that the ebay seller's Krane jersey does not appear to be contoured like an actual Mets jersey of that era. The ebay seller's jersey is wider, with straighter sides. Also, there appear to be slight differences in the sizes of the "Mets" lettering and the uniform numbers.

What's the provenance on the jersey you are comparing it to? How do wenow the one you are comparing it to is the proper font, arch, etc?

I can't confirm the authenticity of the Kranepool jersey appearing in the photo I supplied. I obtained my Kranepool photos from an auction site more than five years ago.

But I can tell you that the nameplate fonts on the ebay jersey are incorrect. The real '79 nameplate fonts were chunkier and taller.

Under the ebay jersey front is a '79 road Willie Mays, from Bill Henderson's guide. Even the front "Mets" lettering is thicker than that of the ebay jersey.

Anybody else want to chime in? It seems to me that all of the lettering on the ebay jersey is off: the "Mets" logo and the uniform numbers appear slightly off, and the nameplate last name fonts are obviously wrong.

Another thing that looks off is the tag. No tag from 79 that I have ever seen has the tail on the top left of the 7.
