    Store Model Bats

I found some great store model bats this weekend but I have no idea of their value. Can someone help?
    Jackie Robinson H/B 36" long Knob - JR6
    Johnny Bench H/B Knob - JB2
    Mickey Mantle H/B knob - MM4
Mickey Mantle Adrondack - Knob 33
    Pete Rose H/B knob - PRS4
    Carl Yastrzemski H/b - CYS5
    Ernie Banks H/B - EB2
    Ron Cey H/B Knob 3
    Jerry Rice LS

All bats are in mint condition, they were purchased on a closeout from a sporting goods store.

Any help on value would be appreciated

Yes, they had them out, they never sold so they moved them to the warehouse and forgot about them.

        Jackie Robinson H/B 36" long Knob - JR6 $100+ (Premium for 36 inch)
        Johnny Bench H/B Knob - JB2 $30-$50
        Mickey Mantle H/B knob - MM4 $100+
        Mickey Mantle Adrondack - Knob 33 $75+
        Pete Rose H/B knob - PRS4 $50+
        Carl Yastrzemski H/b - CYS5 $100
        Ernie Banks H/B - EB2 $50+
        Ron Cey H/B Knob 3 ?
        Jerry Rice LS ?

Prices are my opinion based on my experience with old store stock bats. Prices shown are for signature model bats. Deduct up to 50% for Block letter bats. Best sellers are 34-36 inch bats. 32 and under less desireable but will sell. Hope this info helps.

We also need to know if they are foil stamped or branded. The only value I question is Yaz. I doubt that break $50.

Yeah, I sold a Yastrzemski a couple of months back and only got $20 for it and it was nearly mint.

              mjkm90,
The bats are all branded, expect the Mantle Adirondack. I'm suprised by the prices only because these bats are mint. Is the condition of bats not weighted like almost all memorabilia or card, a larger premium for mint over nearly mint and/or any other condition?

                Re: Store Model Bats

If branded and you are sure they are vintage (60s or earlier) then the Mantle would definately be in the $200-$300+ range and the Jackie in the $150-$200 range, Banks $100-$200+. They made all of these into the 70s so the markings need to date them earlier to get these prices. If there is a registered trade mark above the d in the word powerized, they are post 1973. If the registered trade mark symbol is above the r in slugger and it doesn't say Reg. U.S. Pat Off. under the center label it's from 1965 to 1973. The others don't matter because they are all extremely common. Now, since they are mint, you will sell them quickly, but you aren't going to make a ton on Bench, Yaz, Cey. Jackie Robinson and Mantle are extremely common, but the Mick always commands a premium.

Use Bills pricing in that case. Drop the Yaz way down and the Jackie down to $75. Were glad you posted. Even though you didn't get great news on the value, they are nice bats.

I have some more questions on store model bats. What's the difference in aging for a bat that says Powerized vs "Flame Powerized"< examples below? Also, can anyone help on dates of the two Mays bats below and what is their current values?

I'm actually trying to buy them, but I'm not sure the current market value. Are there any in particular that carry a larger value?
