Anyone have any suggestion on a inexpensive nice way for framing a jersey yourself. I would love to have them custom framed but the funds just arent there. I been building my player collection and want to start displaying them. If anyone can share there ideas or examples.

Re: framing jerseys
Page 18 of this thread shows how I did mine. I had the same deal as you with the $$$ concerns. Also the size of retail frames was an issue (not big enough).
All said and done you can do this for under $100 if you're savvy...

Re: framing jerseys
I know some collectors like to frame their game worn jerseys, and it's up to each person to decide their own preference, but I much prefer the 3 dimension aspect of seeing jerseys displayed on partial mannequins. To me, much of the joy of owning a game worn jersey is the ability to look at all of it and inspect the various aspects of wear to the jersey. Just something to consider.Comment

Re: framing jerseys
I used to work at a museum and we had artifacts including clothes hanging. I can tell you your frame (over time) will do more damage then good due to the stress of the jesery on the shoulders. It also will change shape due to this which can not be set back.

All that was, was to show the finished product (frame). I just tossed some jerseys over a bent hanger so you guys get the idea of how they would/could look. When it came to the final touches to hang the jerseys, different hangars were used. And yes, they're all archival quality/shape.
But thanks for the tip.Comment

Re: framing jerseys
Project shadow box is the best way to go. I can recommend some really cheap ones that I use. They come with clear hanger. I buy NFL shield stickers and dolphins logo stickers and an 8x10 and they look beautiful. They even have slots to put the 8x10 so it doesn't fall over inside the box. Perfect size for football jersey.Comment

Re: framing jerseys
It beats getting the jersey glued, and poked with 12,000 holes. Plus I can take it out if I ever want to wear it or change the display. It includes a black felt backing, a clear hanger with 2 hooks up top. The hanger is long from shoulder to shoulder so it doesn't oddly wrinkle it. And it contains the holders for the photo and nice plexi glass cover. I paid 200$ for 4 frames.Comment
