Hello Forum fans. Just put up on eBay a Oakland A's World Series Jersey from 1988. The item number is:280035184118. The description reads as follows:
Up for auction is an Oakland A’s jersey worn during the 1988 World Series by Mike Gallego. The jersey was made by Rawlings and is a size 44. Next to the Rawlings tag, is a white flag tag that reads Set 1 1988. All of the letters and numbers are sewn onto the jersey and the NOB has individual letters sewn onto a nameplate and the nameplate then sewn onto the jersey. The jersey is complete with the 1988 World Series patch and Oakland A’s patch.
The jersey will come with a Letter of Authenticity from the Oakland A’s equipment manager Steve Vucinich. I purchased this jersey from Kim Stigall of Ballpark Heroes.
Was this jersey worn during Game 1 of the 1988 World Series? Less we forget, in one of the most improbable finishes in World Series history, pinch hitter Kirk Gibson hit a 2-run home run off Dennis Eckersley with two out in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Dodgers a 5–4 win in game one of the 1988 World Series.
