I emailed the seller requesting a photo of the steiner certificate card that comes with it. I have not heard back and will post any updates. The other 2005 Mets jerseys I have seen have either had no tag or a tag with the set number and year on the tag. Does anyone have input on the tags?

The other question I have is to the steiner hologram being on the majestic tag. Most jerseys I have seen either have the MLB hologram on the numbers or the new Steiner hologram affixed to the jersey.

Here some photos of David Wright from 2005. Please note the location of the no 5 in the photos and the distance from the blue piping and location under the "METS" as compared with the jersey in auction.

Metsbats I understand what your saying but I do not agree with you, as we all know placement of letters and numbers are not always consistent and you yourself have proved with the pictures you posted. Look at all 4 pictures the first one the "5" is way off from the piping of the Jersey and if you notice the last picture the "5" is a lot closer to the piping.

I'm not trying to Post for Bob at Steiner, but I checked with Bob M. a few days ago when I was emailed about this jersey. Bob at Steiner doesn't show that they handled this jersey, but if they did there should be a Steiner LOA. Steiner has received some jerseys from the past few seasons when they took over Mets Steiner this summer.

This jersey is marked 2005 which would have been under the era of Amazin' Mets with Paul Schwartz.

I wouldn't touch it at current prices without a Mets Steiner letter since it has the Steiner hologram.

Keep in mind with holograms on jerseys, they don't adhere well to the tagging fabric. Hopefully they find a more permanent fix in the future.

Let us know if the seller comes up with the LOA!!!!!!!!!!

The last two pictures were not the best examples. The batting poses you can see the jersey does not lie flat therefore is scrunched up so it does not look like it's lined up w/ the "s" in Mets.

I completely agree with you that the consistency of the placement of the digits are not always the same all the time. For example I don't have any photo of it but Ricky Ledee's road grey jersey has his number "9" way over to the right past the 'K' in "NEW YORK" .

That said the auction jersey is lying flat and in my opinion the "5" just too close to the blue piping. I would say the digit has to line up with the 'S' in 'METS' most of the time and for the team to send Wright their marquee player out the with nothing less I'd be surprised.
