Here's a look at the special gold-numbered uniforms that the St. Louis Cardinals wore against the Cubs at home on April 13-14. These were worn in recognition of their 2011 World Championship.


The 2011 versions had gold numbers and NOB, as well as gold Cardinals front script. For the 2007 opener, the jerseys merely had all front and back characters trimmed in gold.

The Giants did the same thing last year.

Just about all WS Champs teams having been doing this since 2005 with Boston. Since then, the White Sox, 2007 Red Sox, and Yankees have opted not to wear the gold trim. Pretty tacky looking uniforms I think.
