Removing Tobacco Stains From 25+ Year Old Jersey

Looking for tips on how to remove tobacco stain from a 1985 white double knit game jersey. I have applied stain remover spray and washed in luke warm water, however the stain is still present. Am I stuck with it, considering it may have been there 25+ years? The jersey is now a much brighter white but the the tobacco stain is still a distraction. I could be off here in that it may be something other then tobacco, but that's what my guess is.

    Thanks

Why do you want to remove the stain? The tobacco adds to the character of the jersey IMO.

I agree, especially if the player was known to use tobacco. Sounds like a great jersey!
