    vintage baseball photos

I am posting this in hopes of having vintage collectors coming to a consensus of what ballpark these 3 photos were taken at. Thanks for any help in answering my question. Ebay#120038638485 Ebay#120038640201 Ebay# 120038644993. I believe the pics are still up.

Great photos. I believe I have a photo that came from that same batch of photos. Possibly Shibe park in Philadelphia? Maybe League Park in Cleveland? You might be able to read more off the scoreboard if you have a loupe or if you scan them and use the maginfying tool.

I don't think it's Shibes Park. Here is photo of the 1910 World Series at Shibe Park. Also the bottom of the scoreboard in your photos says "Dogs Head Bass Ale"...if that helps at all. Perhaps its Tigers Bennett Park.

The first thing I googled for was "Dogs Head bottling" and unfortunately it was an import beer from London, England. So that doesn't help. Could be Bennett Park, but all photos I've seen of Detroit in that time period show advertising completely around the outfield wall. Your photo of Bennett park has all of that obscured by makeshift bleachers to seat extra fans.

The photo I posted was of Shibe Park in 1910. I don't have any photos of Bennett Park - not really sure what it looks like - just a guess. The sign also has Seipp's Beer which was a big brewery in Chicago. How about South Side Park? The Sox played there for half of the 1910 season before Comiskey was built.

I guess Reading really IS fundamental. I don't know how I misread what you wrote.

Thanks for your help. When I get the photos, I will try and look closer to see if anything can me identified. My feeling would be Bennett Park from what you are saying as the photos all seem to match...even the other one which was posted by slidekellyslide. The teams seem to be the Tigers and A's. All of the players notated on the photos from the A's were on the 1910 team. I have e-mailed the seller asking him if he knows anything further but have not heard back. Thanks for any additional ideas or information. Curious as to how your photo was obtained. (SKS) Many there is a connection.

The seller of the three you won is Bob Rousseau. He and I have talked about these photos in the past and came to the conclusion that they are from the same batch of photos, but I'm not sure we ever discussed where they were taken. I obtained my photo from a different seller so they have been through at least a few hands now....I got mine off of ebay about 2-3 years ago. The auction mentioned that this photo was taken before the start of a World Series game...which would mean the photo was taken on a different day as the Cobb photo. I never asked the seller how he knew this because I never much thought about it until I saw Bob's photos about a year after I got mine and by that time I had forgotten who the seller was. Sorry if that's a bit confusing, but the good part is you got three fantastic photos at a really good price. It is very difficult to find fan taken (most likely one of a kind) photos from that time period. I would have been competition on these photos if not for some items in the current Mastro auction catching my eye.
