Sad to see the Cubs stink so bad.

What is the answer(s) to field a winning team in Wrigley?

At least the Twins have the same record as the Cubbies (15-31)....;)

At least The Twins have won three championships since 1900 (one as The Washington Senators) while The Cubs have only won two championships since 1900 and both of them were prior to 1910.

As a Twins fan, most adults have seen them win a championship - Cubs fans have a bad ball park and a lot of history.

By the way, down 3-0 after the 1st inning!

Top of 5th, still 3-0 Bucs.

I figured the Cubs would be bad this year, but I didn't figure them to be THIS bad!

Unfortunately one of those was against the Braves in 1991:(.....

Win or lose...the beers always seem to taste better at Wrigley. Hope they can turn things around soon though.

That's the problem at Wrigley - Too many go for the social event and not for a baseball game.

Even Peter Gammons called it a "Dump".

This should be a new thread, but here goes:

- Impossible parking
- One big urinal (you'll only understand this if you've been to the men's room there)
- Brick walls in outfield? Someone is due to die
- Stupid location
- No foul grounds
- Too many female fans discussing Real Housewives of (name city) instead of paying attention to the baseball game
- No bullpens
- Too many male fans with their shirts off in the bleachers (why?)
- Too many fans more determined to drink as much beer as they can before they pass out or are asked to leave
- Over 100 years without a World Champion
- They still blame a fan for 2003
- No video replay (what's that screen now in right field anyway?)

I'll let others continue this list...

I'd put up with all of that, just to be able to watch a game played on the same field where Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, Three Finger Brown, and those guys used to play. In fact, I'd pay $20 for a tour of the field, if they'd let me onto it for a couple minutes, to soak in the history.

Who would want to trade that for a new plastic stadium with jacked-up ticket prices?

The Cubs DO offer on-field tours, usually on Saturdays when they're on the road, as well as a couple of summer events that allow fans field access at non-game times. Check www.cubs.com (http://www.cubs.com) for information.

With today's loss in Target Field, the Cubs have now lost 20 out of their last 24. Over half (11) of those losses were of the one-run variety.

First, let me say that I'm being completely sincere here...

This is why I love Cubs fans. To be loyal to a baseball team for multiple generations of losing is what baseball is all about. Prediction: When the Cubs finally win a World Series, after all the excitement has died down, Cubs fans will look back with nostalgia at the less successful teams of the past (1969, 1984), and think of those seasons as their true identity.
