How long before this ends up offered as "game used". I already feel sorry for that unsuspecting buyer who will pay thousands for this down the road.

This is one reason why people advocate provenance, aka a paper trail of sales

Were Schmidt game worn jerseys tagged with a "SCHMIDT" name tag?
This could possibly be a gamer. No?

Yes, and so could any of the other 1,000 Scoreboard jerseys out there with the same exact characteristics. Only a couple of them are legitimate. Worth the odds??

I did not realize that Schmidt was on the Scoreboard roster. The eBay seller contacted me, and said he does not think it is a game worn jersey. He hopes no-one buys it with this assumption. His description seems accurate, to me.

I'm glad the ad was posted because one thing missing from this jersey is the fact that it is not signed.
As far as I remember, ALL of the jerseys Scoreboard offered were autographed.
Not saying that this jersey is Game Used, just making an observation.

Though it might be true for the contents of the article posted, not all Scoreboard jerseys were autographed. I have seen plenty that aren't.

Just to add, from the research I've done on the Scoreboard jerseys, they all seem to lack a 4th laundering instruction "Do not use in Automatic Dryer" and the numeral font of the sizing is different from 1989 game issued/worn jerseys:

Another red flag: the Reggie Jackson jersey's size. He was a size 48 in his final season as a player (1987); a 44 wouldn't measure up.

Does anyone have more information on the Scoreboard jerseys? In what year(s) were they sold? Which players? How many jerseys per player? How were they sold -- via SCD ads only? Thanks.
