LeRoy Ellis, a 13-year NBA veteran who was a first round draft selection of the Lakers in 1962, died Saturday of prostate cancer at age 72.
Ellis' career included two stints with the Lakers, his one season as an original member of the Portland Trailblazers, and also stays with the Bullets and 76ers. He was a graduate of St. John's.
