.....why would the Yankees give Mantle (the biggest star on the team) a recycled Jerry Lumpe (NYY 1956-59) jersey in 1957??Sounds like it was a '57 Lumpe jersey that someone (not necessarily the seller...maybe the previous,"sports bar" owner) had made up as a Mantle for display purposes.Just my 2 cents....

This Mantle flannel was fair game. It was not listed as game used or worn. The only blatant mis-information in the item description was stating that chain-link stitching is obsolete. Chain-link stitching is still done today and often.
