Disposal of non-game player GU bats responsibly

As some of us on the GUF (I know Kyle Hess does) play baseball and buy pro model bats to use in games I thought I'd pass on this responsible way of disposing of broken bats. A couple of weeks ago I cracked a Mike Pelfrey 2011 Rawling Adirondack bat and need to dispose of it. So before I'm dumping it into the trash I marked it up so that no one can resell it as game used bat. I suppose using it for fire wood would certainly be an alternative but I don't have a fire place in my house.

I find it cheaper to buy common player bats to use in games rather then ordering my own bats from bat companies. The theory is the pro players get better wood and judging from the past having ordered bats for myself and comparing them to pro models it is the case.

Here's another idea David... all you need is a 5-inch long 1.25-inch drill bit. a drill, and some light sandpaper. Oh yeah, for the first step you need a saw LOL

I was thinking about those or a lamp but lack the carpentry skills to do either.

Do you do those yourself Mike?

        Mine went up in flames

The neighbors sometimes have a little fire that we sit by at night and we just throw random stuff in so I throw any of my broken bats in instead of trashing it. It's a lot more fun that way

I originally found these on Ebay (see below)... I tried a few myself but the Ebay ones saved a lot of miscuts and frustration LOL...
