Cleveland Elam, a DE who had a productive but brief 5-year career with the 49ers, died on July 12 at age 60.
Elam was drafted by the 49ers in 1975, and played through 1979, when injuries ended his career. In that five year time frame, however, he set a team record for sacks in a season (17.5) and was selected to 2 Pro Bowls and 1 All-Pro team.
