Ed (Big Ed) Stevens, a 1B who played in the National League for six seasons, died July 22 at age 87.
Stevens split his career between two teams equally, playing for the Pirates (1945-47) and the Dodgers (1948-50). Twice in those six years he appeared in over 100 games and hit 10 home runs in each of those seasons.
