Anyone have any awesome Olympic used items? I'd love to own an Al Oerter used Discus, any 1992 Dream Team jersey or Micahel Jordan's gold shoes from 1996.

I ran track and have always followed the sport, though have never been a big collector in that area or the Olympics. I once won on eBay a 1950s Russian medal given to a hurdler for setting the word's record.
Getting a little OT here, but Rulon Gardner in 2000 was huge for me. "Gardner is well known for his defeat of Alexander Karelin (Aleksandr) in the 2000 Summer Olympics. Karelin had been undefeated for 13 years, and had not given up a point in six years, prior to his loss in the gold medal match to Gardner."
When the U.S. Olympic softball team had played its last at the '08 Games, I read at the time that all the team members left their spikes at home plate, as a gesture of "leaving something on the field", and (at least according to some) as a protest against the Olympics' dropping of the event. Of course, my first thought was, "God, who got those spikes?!"
Well, the Olympics are over but better late than never. Of my 60+ team USA jerseys I have a few that were Olympic worn.
- 1984 Rod Dedeaux (head coach) and John Hoover.
- 1988 Ron Polk (coach) and 1996 Ray Tanner (coach)
- 2008 Jayson Nix and 1992 Charles Johnson
- 2000 Anthony Sanders and Shane Heams
- 1996 Foul ball caught at the Team USA vs. Australia game.
