Hey Guys,
I am a Philadelphia Eagles collector, and recently picked up a non Eagles, non football item that figured was worth showing here. It is a basketball uniform that I believe dates to the 1940's with Steelers on the chest, and both the jersey and pants have a Pittsburgh makers tag. I am aware of the Eagles having football teams from the 1940's up to modern times, and in fact the Eagles and Colts played an opening act basketball game before Wilt's famous 100 point game in Hershey. I have been told by a Pittsburgh collector that the Steelers also had a basketball team, but haven't been able to find any photos or info about their teams of the 1940's. The jersey and shorts are mismatched in terms of the player number for some reason.

Thanks so much for posting those newspaper clippings! I couldn't find anything similar with my online searching.

I'm not sure what is more impressive here...finding the jersey and shorts or finding that article! Great, great item though!!!!
