Eddie Yost, dubbed "The Walking Man" for his propensity to draw bases on balls, died October 16, just three days after his 86th birthday.
Yost played from 1944-1962, excepting 1945 for military service. Most of his career was spent with the Washington Senators, with his final four season split between Detroit (1959-60) and the Los Angeles Angels (1961-62).
He holds the American League record for most walks in a season (151 in 1956) and drew 1,614 free passes over his entire career.
