The seller specifically states in the auctions he'll answer questions quickly, so I'm not sure what to make of the lack of response. On one hand it was around the holidays, but on the other hand he listed them, so...

Does anyone have an opinion on whether these came from the tent sale & had nameplates added? Here is one:

I looked at a couple of them and the COA's are the ones from the no nameplate sale. They're different COA's than what you get when buying from the Pats GU site.

I would say all of them were from the sale and had nameplates added. You can tell the nameplates don't match ( as I said earlier in this thread) it's much harder to match nameplates than you would think. On the earlier jerseys the fonts are correct done by the correct customizer. The later ones (06ish up) have the early fonts and are incorrect.

I've been several times, but not in the last year or so. They have a lot of GU stuff on display, along with the 3 Super Bowl trophies, rings, etc. definitely worth the price of admission ($10).

I bought this Ron Brace jersey (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ron-Brace-Game-Worn-2009-New-England-Patriots-Blue-Jersey-NFL-/231151002549?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35d1ac63b5) and in person, you can tell the stitching, thread and letters are COMPLETELY wrong. I returned the item for a full refund, but it won't shock me to see that Brace up for sale again. The seller never denied my claims and never responded outside of my eBay INAD claim.

yup, that's one from the tent sale. The jersey is legit and the numbers are correct, the seller had the pre 2006 customizer add the nameplate with the old font.

As I have told most of you, we had hoped to launch our ownauction site this off-season to enable us to move more jerseys, letting themarket set the price. This plan is still being considered, but islosing momentum and we identify challenges. We are considering using eBayfor this season to try and make more jerseys available. As collectors, Iwelcome any feedback you have on that concept.

We do have some smaller news to announce. Startingtoday we are going to begin a trial program to sell some lesser known namedjerseys from the 90’s. We are starting with about 80-100 White and Royaljerseys from 1995-1999. Again, these aren’t Bruschi, Bledsoe, and Armstrong,but are more designed for the entry level collector or hard core Pats fan whowants a little piece of the past. Most of the names aren’t remembered butthey are pretty cool nonetheless. The real idea is that customers canorder a randomly chosen jersey for a really low price – helping us move somethe player jerseys that don’t warrant being sold on the website individually orat auction. These are going to be priced to sell at only $45 forTeam Issued and $75 for Game Worn. They do come with a ½ page version ofour ProShop COA (not individually numbered and we will not be tracking them inour memorabilia database). While the intent was to be random (making iteasier for us to manage) we will certainly take calls and emails fromcollectors (especially Game Used Universe members) to answer questions and helpmatch up jerseys with the people who want them most. We will make these80-100 trial jerseys available today and watch the results over the next weekor more to determine whether the program makes sense for these jerseys. Overthe coming days/weeks, prices could go up or down, more jerseys may or may notbe made available. This is very much a trial.

Below is a list of the game used jerseys going up today –first come first serve. Team issued will be available later thisafternoon. I will post this information to the Game Used Universe forumas well, but since I had your email addresses I thought I’d drop you a note.Again, just let me know if you don’t wish to receive this communications. There hasn't been any discussion recently about the A-List guys. I amhopeful that through an auction format we will still be able to offer them tothe public at some point. In the interest of full disclosure I have to admitthat I think there is a chance that we may never be able to offer Brady throughour retail channels. I honestly don't know what the odds are. I promise to postas soon as any information is available.

Received a few questions, so will post here:
There are ONLY 1995-1999 Royal & White (Starter 95-98 and adidas 99), and a small number of navy/white adidas from 2000-2001. No throwbacks. All are no nameplate. Game jerseys are mostly team issued, but some may have limited signs of wear. ALL 90’s are $45 and all 00/01 are $65.

Practice jerseys are almost all Reebok, but some old adidas may be in there (patched over as RBK). They are almost all RED and Black. Red are used for Kickers, punters, QB’s, and injured players. Black have been used as the “practice player of the week” and similar designations. They are ALL $25.

You aren’t going to find any 4, 11,12, 54, etc. but they are pretty cool nonetheless. Much like last year, this is a cost effective way for us to move a lot of low end jerseys at a desirable price. The jerseys are ALL at the store now being prepped for tomorrow’s sale, so unfortunately we cannot pick though and pull anything from online sale. We just can’t manage that the same way online – it’s a lot trickier than it might seem on the surface.

I get that some of you are bothered about our selling no nameplate jerseys in the first place, and others are bothered that it's an in person event only, but like last year, we’d rather do it this way, than not do it at all. I hope some of you have been able to grab some of the “Random 90’s” jerseys as well. We are doing what we can to move more and more of them – well aware that we can’t make everyone happy, but I will continue to try and find creative ways to make more and more jerseys available to those who want them.

I hope those of you interested are able to make it, and maybe find something you like.

These are priced to be easy for us to fulfill, as the 90's jerseys have been. Like the 90's, these are D-List names, you aren't going pick up a Brady, Bruschi, etc. They are practice squad guys, or players who never even made it out of training camp/pre-season, or may be were lucky enough to get a little playing time. It's just a way to move these jerseys without all the work associated with setting them up to be sold individually.

No promises, but I will try and post a list of some of the available game worn - I don't have it right now.

Jim not only found a Jake Ingram jersey but it was his rookie throwback jersey from 2009 with the AFL 50th anniversary patch. He notified me when the jersey would be up on ebay. When I pointed out that Hawaii was excluded for shipping, he made sure that wouldn't be the case for this jersey. He also said a full page COA would be included for it. I just read of Jim's post troubles when I came here to thank him, as one of my holy grails that I'd requested from him had made it to auction.

Jim's posts were the reason I found this community, and the reason I requested to become a part of it. Haven't heard anything yet about ring related memorabilia. Usually that starts after the players rings have been designed, etc. That is a later this summer time-frame. Check the ProShop then to see if anything is available.

This year's ProShop Tent Sale will start on Thursday July 30th - we will open early that day 7 or 8 AM. We will have no nameplate jerseys from 1993, 1994 and a small number of others (including silver).

We will also have a small number of lesser known name jerseys from those years, and 00-01, and 02-11. There are a few hundred jerseys in total,. prices range from $45 to $75.

There will also be a lot of unused gear we pulled from locker-room storage including sweat shirts and pants, sideline apparel, etc. T-shirts and hats as low as $5.

If you are able to be in Foxboro on or after 7/30 you should come check it out!

There were definitely dealers in attendance, but as far as eBay goes, today is definitely much slower than the past 2 years' first-day-of-sale listings.

However, it does seem that all of the '03-'07 Silver Alternate jerseys may have been snapped up by the first 2-3 resellers through the door.

I arrived at 7:20AM and there wasn't a single one left, and I returned a couple of times throughout the day as they restocked the tent, and no further Silvers were put out. Most of the eBay listings have been Silvers (purchased for $65.00 at the sale) with $300 OBO Buy It Now's.

That being said, there were still literally hundreds of 1993-94 jerseys and a few dozen '00-'11 still available as of late afternoon. I picked up about a dozen total, so it was worth it for me. I was just hoping to snag a Silver as I don't have one in my collection yet.

In case anyone was planning to take a trip before the sale ends on the 9th: they're down to 1 rack of Blue 1993 jerseys and 1 rack of mostly White 1993, with a few White 1994 (none with NFL 75th Anniversary patches, and no more throwbacks).

According to employees, they won't be restocking with any additional game worn/team issued before the end of the sale, so this is the end of them til next year.

Yeah I spoke to the equipment manager for the pats as I offered a large sum of money in an attempt to aquire one of Brady's game issued jerseys.

He told me, and I might be able to find the email to support this claim "Brady's jerseys have never been released - with the exception of NFL Auctions, Brady himself, or other high ranking gms owners of the Pats."

Unless it came from NFL Auctions or off Brady's back I wouldn't touch one on ebay with a 5000 ft pole... I know there are some collectors here that might be able she'd light on this as well..

The letters are real, but they are for the 'no name' gamers they sell. No way they'd ever sell a brady issued jersey with the letter.

Not sure what type of pat's balls he has been selling (and obviously he doesn't let facts get in the way of a sale), but the team has definitely sold balls on ebay. I've almost bid on some cheap ones just to throw around in a the backyard.

Were those from the 80s? Also, some of the Russell tags said, simply, "100% Nylon", while others added "For Care See Reverse". Does anyone have any further insight on identifying specific seasons?

Also, some have a mesh yoke and sleeves while others have dazzle yokes and sleeves. Some have heat pressed numbers while others are stitched. Then the durene jerseys really threw me off. Were those from the 80s? Also, some of the Russell tags said, simply, "100% Nylon", while others added "For Care See Reverse". Does anyone have any further insight on identifying specific seasons?


These can be a bit tricky to figure out, and in full disclosure I called upon a couple members of this forum to help verify what our findings were. Unlike most of the boxes we took from locker-room storage these were not marked as clearly as most others. Most read "88-92 Game Jerseys" and had number ranges for the uniforms in each individual box.

1988-89- Screen printed letters & numbers - no NFL shield on the neckline
1990- Stitched letters & numbers - no NFL shield at the neckline
1991- Stitched letters & numbers - NFL shield at the neckline
1992- Screen printed letters & numbers - NFL shield at the neck

From 88-89 We believe both Sand Knit & Russell jersey's were used.
From 1990-92 all jerseys were manufactured by Russell Athletic.

Some variations to these findings are more than possible, even likely. For example, we have found photos that indicate there were times a no shield jersey was worn after the uniforms began to include the shield. Might have been a sizing issue, back up jersey, worn in pre0seasoon only, impossible to tell in some cases.

The breakdown above was developed from our own findings as well as the assistance of a couple of very knowledgeable fellow collectors. I hope you find the information helpful, and we are always open to hearing other opinions or information anyone else may have.

You are probably right, but we did make a few changes to the hang tag that should help identify these as what they were. We did NOT refer to the tag as a Certificate of Authenticity, but simply as Team Issued Equipment.

It is also worth noting here that we do plan to make those same jerseys (ones with nameplates) available through both auctions & our ProShop website, including the "Random" jersey offerings. No ETA on that just yet, but we hope to have some up by the start of the season.

Team Issued '91 and '92 jerseys now up on the ProShop website. If anyone happens to get the white 1991 #11 MCCARTHY jersey(the one shown in the item photo) I'd be happy to trade whatever white 1991 jersey I receive! Along with a 1992 red #11 Shawn McCarthy(to add to my punter collection)I ended up getting a number #41 Tim Gordon white 1991. He was a Safety who played in 21 games for the Pats between '91 and '92. I'm definitely open to trading that for the white 1991 #11 Shawn McCarthy that was in the item photo on the ProShop website if any of you get that one!

I just purchased two 1991 Jon Melander Pat's game issued jerseys, one of which had game wear. Matt, who replied to my email through the pro shop was very helpful. For 50 bucks a pop, they were quite the bargain.

I concur with gopherjerseys, Matt has been very helpful with my requests also. I do wish there was a way to get a list of what numbers/names are available so we're not making unnecessary requests for jerseys that aren't even available. I remember getting an excel spreadsheet in the past, I believe when the 95-99 Flying Elvis jerseys were first offered and that was great. Showed exactly what we could pick from. Also, I know us locals would love to be able and peruse the assortment in person! *ahem...Jim* If you could make that happen I'd probably buy you a beer or four.

Hey Mr. Scollins, I have a question. For the last 4 Superbowl Victories, the Proshop has sold a exact replica of the ring encased in Lucite. Despite the $250 price tag I gladly bought them rather than get a cheap, low quality $19.99 replica on eBay. Now I am told you will not sell them this time. Why not? I feel like I wasted $1000 on an incomplete collection. They always sold well so I can't believe it is a financial decision. Please tell me this is not the case.
