Joe Ginsberg, a backup catcher most of his career who played for 7 teams, died November 2 at age 86.
Ginsberg, whose career spanned 1946, 1948-54 and 1956-62, played for 6 AL teams over all but the final season of his career, most notably with the Tigers and Orioles. He finished his career with two games for the 1962 New York Mets.
Although primarily a back-up backstop, he did have two seasons with the Tigers (1948-49) in which he caught over 100 games.
