1970s NFL Action Team Mates...

Does anyone remember these? I still have my Cowboys. Obviously well-used...

I had this play set that came with the field, benches, goal posts and if I recall 2 figures from the Steelers. They were blank figures with sticker numbers, and there was a "black" player and a "white" player offered (a different time obviously). I vividly remember having my "Franco Harris" figure and a "Jack Lambert" ones. I may even have switched Franco and Jack to Bradshaw and Swann at some point.

Here's mine, from when I was a kid. Ordered it from the Fall/Winter Sears catalog. Instead of coming in one of those cardboard backs, mine came in a plain brown cardboard box.

I never saw the playing field before, that is very cool! I also have the Cowboys poster shown in the ad but mine is actually a clock, so very 70's.

Going back to my childhood (1960s/early 70s), I recall the Tudor electric football games with small generic players in team colors that shot every which way on the buzzing metal board (football field) when turned on. The players could have their uniforms numbered by sending in for decals made to mimic the colors of the home/road uniform numerals for all teams. While the players were generic in most instances, team player lots had both black and white players, and the players were in generic poses for the positions they were made to represent (offensive guards, for example, were made with the player leaning forward and blocking with his forearms). You also had a generic quarterback/kicker figure, larger than the others, who was supposed to pass/kick the ball when needed.
