I found a style match to a Murtaugh jersey in 1958 so it looks like MacGregor made a set. Numbers are bad though, Pirates had two-color numerals all the way back into the early 50s. -

Agreed. The numeric font and the color of the numbers is not consistent with known Pirates gamers of the era. The suggestion by joelsabi that this could be a vinatge sample jersey is a good possibility.

that is what i say. the seller emailed me back stating that it is 100% original. ok. there isn't any chain stitching, player name, nothing.Comment

wow! that guy is really bent in believing that the jersey is a gamer. i emailed him about somethings that are not right about it and he pretty much told me to go pound sand. amazing.Comment
