I found a style match to a Murtaugh jersey in 1958 so it looks like MacGregor made a set. Numbers are bad though, Pirates had two-color numerals all the way back into the early 50s.

Agreed. The numeric font and the color of the numbers is not consistent with known Pirates gamers of the era. The suggestion by joelsabi that this could be a vinatge sample jersey is a good possibility.

that is what i say. the seller emailed me back stating that it is 100% original. ok. there isn't any chain stitching, player name, nothing.

wow! that guy is really bent in believing that the jersey is a gamer. i emailed him about somethings that are not right about it and he pretty much told me to go pound sand. amazing.
