What i do not understand at all is why the TEAM equipment managers don't get any fines or heat from the NFL, they know the rules too. Why did the Bengals equipment manager allow chad johnson to wear the name plate?

I raised this question back in 2004 when a large number of Buccaneers wore pirate ship logos the wrong way in a number of games, The NFL didn't fine the equipment manager Tom Sain for not seeing the error...

It wasn't used in the game. It was pulled off by Carson Palmer to reveal C. Johnson before the game...

Wait, I'm confused. So the Buce actually used jerseys with backwards ships?

The 2 jerseys I mention were a white Derrick brooks 2004 jersey with THE PIRATE ships on the sleeves sewn on backwards, same problem with the other jersey a Joe Jurevicius, NOt any gmae use on either jersey and extremely crisp numbers and letter, not even wash wear...

Eric, yes the Bucs DID where some jerseys with backwards ships in 2004 by SOME players for one game, but the ones grey flannel had were OBVIOUSLY NOT game worn and they were not the players that had backwards ships on their jerseys...

I never siad chad johnson wore the nameplate in the game -regardless he still is getting fined, is the point

I'm guessing he allowed Chad Johnson to use the nameplate because someone on the team signed off on it. It's not a rules violation. It was not used in the game.
