Nebraska Cornhuskers Helmet....Team Issue or Custom?

I stumbled across this Nebraska Helmet not knowing if it was a legit team issue or a homemade job? It was recertified in 1980 something (the tag has just about worn off inside the helmet. The helmet has been repainted at some time but has always been white in color.

The price was right, so if it's nothing more than a display helmet I won't be dissappointed.

Any thoughts from you guys in the know?

Does anyone have any websites or recommendations on where I could find out about this helmet or just helmets in general. I've looked at helmethut, looked thru random images but can't determine with what I know or have seen. Thanks in advance for the help, suggestions and opinions!!
