    Donald Driver Jersey on eBay

I came across this Donald Driver jersey on eBay that the seller claims was game used on 12/31/06 @ Chicago. When I looked for photos of him in this game, he is wearing a jersey with a custom neckline not a normal one like shown in the sellers pictures. Does anybody know if Driver ever wore a jersey without a custom neckline? Also, the year tagging is "03-42" which doesn't make sense to me if he wore it in 2006. Do players ever wear jerseys from years past? It looks like a "game issued" jersey that was not worn by Driver but I was wondering everyone else's thoughts on this, Thanks.

One thing is for certain, he didn't wear that jersey against Chicago in 2006. The last time he wore his "normal style" jersey without the custom neck was in 2002.

I have only been able to find Driver wearing the style jersey that's listed in the auction one time, Sept. 16, 2007 against the Giants. He could've been trying out that style and realized that he didn't like the fit, just my guess.

As far as the year size tag, I've have seen jerseys from previous years be used. I don't think it's common, but it does happen.

      Mike,
Thanks for the info, I'll stay away from this jersey since there are too many unknowns plus it doesn't come with a COA of any kind. NFL auctions just listed a Donald Driver game worn jersey from 11/18/12 vs Lions, it will be interesting to see what it goes for now that he's retired. -Matt

The image that is posted in the auction appears to show Driver playing the NYG. I am no expert with regards to GB shirts but in the above comments isn't it mentioned that he wore this style of shirt vs. NY?

Considering that the last DD that sold via NFL Auctions was more than double the price of this jersey, it might be a good idea to contact the seller and get more information prior to dismissing it.

          Paul,
I noticed that also and initially thought the same thing. The I noticed that the jersey that he's wearing in the posted pic against the Giants is not the same style of jersey in the auction.

Here are some pictures of Driver from the 9/16/07 game @ Giants that Mike referenced earlier. He may have worn it in this game but now the question is did he wear a jersey with '03 tagging in '07? The lack of provenance is what turns me off to this jersey, I don't doubt the auto is real but I'd hate to pay that much for a "game issued" jersey.
