Just a heads up on the Shawn Kemp game worn jersey on eBay. I purchased the jersey and returned it to the seller. I returned it because it showed no game use and had the remainders of a removed upper deck authenticated sticker (look closely under the sonics logo on the tag). These same jerseys were issued by Upper Deck. Kind of a shame, I would have been interested in the jersey as an Upper Deck item, but not at a game used price.
By the way, the seller did accept the return and returned my money a few days after receiving my return.

Sad to report, but the seller (jerseys4thewin) has relisted the jersey, as game worn, and has already drawn 4 bids.

Just disgusting. :( At least you got your money back. Several years ago, I bought a Jeff Bagwell Absolute Memorabilia glass plaque on eBay. It came to me damaged. I asked for a return, and the seller assented. When I actually sent it to him, no refund ever came. I followed up with the seller, and he told me that he didn't ship it like that and that I damaged it myself. He ended up putting the damaged plaque on eBay, claiming I destroyed it, and got the money twice, when I was out the plaque and the dinero.

Why did you not dispute the charges with eBay/PayPal when the seller didn't return your money? I'm confused.

It seems that this isn't the first time that jerseys4thewin has ignored input on an item of his that is not a team-issued or game-used item and continued listing it as game worn even after being notified. I was reminded today of a "game worn" 1983 Phillies road Pete Rose jersey that was a tagged salesman's sample that he ran on eBay last December. The jersey had a box embroidered year tag, no NOB, no space for a NOB, no set number and the Wilson tag in the collar instead of a NIC tag. Despite multiple notifications of the jersey's true nature, he continued listing it as "game worn" and ended up taking in somewhere around $500-$600 for this misadvertised item.

We may well have, but I don't think that there was any positive outcome. This was back in 2004, and I don't remember eBay and PayPal's policies being as strict as they are now.

Oh yeah, back then buyers had much less protection like they do today!

This seller had also listed an Alex Green team issued Packers jersey. Supposedly sold one earlier but later listed another one. Don't know if maybe the first buyer didn't come through or he actually had two jerseys (used the same pictures). Both jerseys showed the standard year and size on the strip tag in the cowl but attached to it was an extra length tag. I've never seen a Reebok jersey with tagging like that (no tail tagging). Was that something new for 2011 jerseys?

Looks like other people are starting to sell the same Upper Deck jerseys as game used.

Look for the remnants of the Upper Deck jersey above the Sonics logo this time.

I don't think it's fair to automatically assume that this jersey is misrepresented without evidence. Still, your warning gives good inormation to potential buyers who may have otherwise been unaware of the Upper Deck jerseys.

I agree - I could be jumping the gun. I am just hesitant of a Kemp jersey when I see sticker remnants if the in the shape of an UDA Sticker (couldn't see it on my computer, but pretty clear on my ipad). Does anyone know if upper deck sold game used jerseys during this era?

It sucks that this happened to you - they bought a Penny Hardaway signed UDA blue road jersey from me and I saw that they removed the hologram and listed and sold it as a game used jersey. Glad you go your moeny back - wish eBay would do something when things were reported but they never do.

Not to hijack the thread but they certainly moved quickly with my items. I listed three autograph hats (Mantle, DiMaggio, and Willaims) with the intent of getting a PSA quick opinion. Since I bought them from a Home Shopping channel back in the early 90's, I'm assuming they are fake. I had a guy email me and tell me my scans of the hats were too small and why would I use that small of photos. I immediately responded I would upload new pictures today. He responded with a link to a story about the Home Shopping networks being sold a bunch of fake autographs in that time period (Operation Bullpen). I responded why the interest if you don't think these are real. 10 minutes later ebay took down all three of my auctions with a generic email to which I can't respond.
