So I'll start off by saying that I collect all things Colgate Football. (colgatefootballcollection.com) I recently picked up a tackling dummy that was used at Colgate in the 1930's. Was curious if anyone had ever seen one before or had any information on it.

Here's the dummy:

Here's a similar one in use at Colgate in 1931:

And here is a similar looking dummy from a 1924 Goldsmith's catalog:

Thanks,

Hey Ryan,

Just wanted to say congratulations on putting together some amazing items from Colgate.

Also, that is a very cool tackling dummy. Unfortunately, outside of being called a dummy, I don't know much about them :)

Again, awesome stuff!

I've seen 2 of them. 1 was on ebay and another I saw at an antique store. Pretty neat item but you have to have some room to store or display it. Not much to add on it but I know that Lowe and Campbell had them in their catalogs as well.

Thanks for the replies. I'm sure one day I'll hang it on a wall somewhere, but for now it is closed it my closet so my dog doesn't attack it.

Now that would be a tragedy...but I'm sure your dog would love it :)
