What is the take on the stories late yesterday that baseball may try to suspend about 20 players. With no positive tests on these players to go on (as far as we know) can they go on the word of the clinic owner alone? How would a 50 game suspension affect a player like ARod who isn't playing anyway?

I'm under the impression that he would lose out on his pay during that time.

Actually, from what I've read and heard, A-Roid and Braun are being considered to be hit with 100 (not 50) game suspensions. The apparent reasoning is the first 50 games for being on the list of participants and the next 50 games will be for lying about it when questioned by MLB this past offseason.

I heard that A-Rod's proposed suspension actually breaks down to 25 games for the steroid abuse and 75 games for being a gigantic d-bag.
