How many jerseys do MLB teams issue to players?

I just purchased another 92 Astros cream issued jersey that is same as the one I already have from the same player. This particular player never stepped up that year and seems to have played for their AAA affiliate. How many jerseys did they normally issue to players that never step up and was this a common practice for teams?

At that time, the player, unless he was a major star, likely would have been issued two of each style. The jerseys are usually ordered during spring training, so the 'Stros probably figured that the player would get called up sometime that year, and their guess ended up being wrong.

I kinda figured so. I bought them because they were way cheaper than buying a blank and they are in great shape for being 21 years old.

Plus in my opinion, the Russell rainbow shoulder jerseys look sharper than the Goodman or Rawlings version.
