    2012 M9 Posey Bat Question

    Hello Everyone,

Can anyone help me identify this 2012 Posey bat? I'm not sure if it's a team issued or a game model bat.

It looks like one of his team issued bats but the knob is throwing me off.

If you take a look at the pictures it only has a date stamp on the end but no size or weight info.

It also has the ink dot on the handle which makes me think it might be team issued.

Thanks for looking and thanks for your help.

Thats a bat made just for autograph, not for a game!

Is a really good looking bat. Do you think they put the ink dot to deceive someone into believing it is game issued? Why would they make a display model with an ink dot?

          Thanks for the info.

Normal autograph bats are made out of cheap wood and can break easily.

This bat looks like good maple wood, do you think that because it has the S318 model number and the ink test it might be a blemished bat that they decided to send the giants for autographs?

It even has the TPX logo with the small maple leaf on the back of the barrel.

If you look at the knob it looks like they sanded the bottom off and stamped the date on it.

How did you come to this conclusion? This kind of looks like one of those bats that didn't make it through QC and ended up being available to minor-leaguers. Weren't there some Berkman bats like this?
