MLB Authentication Question

I recently bought an Atlanta Braves 2012 game used helmet issued and used by Michael Bourn. The helmet has the MLB authentication code of FJ 252743. It states it was game used on April 13, 2012. However, there is a 2012 Post Season sticker on the back side of the helmet. Would this helmet have been used in the wild card game last year or are the helmet taken out of use once authenticated? Thanks for your any help that your are able to lend!

Items aren't always taken out of circulation once authenticated. Many times we've seen pics of bats w/ holos on them being used. The only thing you can be "assured" is that it was used on that specific date. It's totally reasonable it was used all through the season into the post season as well. Only photo matches will be able to tell you that.
