Depends on the team to be honest. Alot of auction houses contact members on here when they have questions about authentication.

Post the pics and you should be able to get an answer if its legit and why or why not

Lyle Alzado Raiders jersey. What do you guys think. It went pretty cheap if it is real.

The low price was likely due at least in part to the missing collar tags, which would be the proper location for the Raiders for that era.

Just some info on the seller regarding authenticity.

This guy is a new partner of JoSports, thus being why
The pictures are so much alike. Plus it was confirmed by an inside person.
I have bought 2 jerseys with no problem of authenticity.
He's not the quickest replier, but it comes in a day or two.

Also you should read some of the feedback they have received (13 negatives in 6 months). Lots of authenticity issues as mentioned by buyers.

Great deal if legit but a few things to consider:

              - although the nameplate looks spot on, stitching appears to not be usual zig zag pattern - more straight in-line
              - No crotch piece which most Raider lineman had
              - Ribbed collar may have come along after Alzado left Raiders in'85 as well as the Satin type material on shoulders.
              - There was a Guard for the Raiders that wore 77 from 1986 thru 1988
              - and obviously the missing tags

MEARS would be a good option but would cost a couple hundred

If I were interested in the jersey, I would want to know when Oakland first started using mesh jerseys with the dazzle cloth shoulders/sleeves in order to confirm if the Raiders wore this style during Alzado's tenure (he played with the Raiders from 1982 to 1986).
