Does anyone have any photos of Mariano Riveras last out? Im looking for pictures of Yunel Escobar jersey he was wearing. Im trying to match it to the one I have. I will post pics later of the jersey.
Thanks

So I contacted the Rays to see if the playoff jerseys were used during the regular season and then the patch for the playoffs just added and they said that's exactly what they did.

So, I took a gamble and picked up Yunel Escobars dark blue jersey seeing that's what he was wearing when Mariano Rivera got his last out of his career, and I think I may have gotten lucky.

Theres waves in the Y and the S that also seem to match but I cant seem to take a good enough photo of them.

A match?

I'm pretty hard on photomatches, but I think the string on the top of the "A" and the loose piping on the sleeve match perfectly.

I would say that based on the photos in this thread and based on the information that I know - that the Rays used 1 navy jersey set on the road at the end of September 2013 --> New York to Toronto to Texas to Cleveland (and had the post season patch applied in Cleveland) to Boston in Game 1 of ALDS.

This jersey was used in by Yunel Escobar in New York on September 26, 2013 - which in that game he was the last batter that Mariano Rivera faced in his career #1115th regualr season and final MLB game.

I have no idea what the original poster paid for the jersey, but that is a really cool link to Mo Rivera's career. I love when collectors think outside the box and obtain something historic (at least tangentially) that the team, player, etc. may have overlooked. Kind of reminds me of when Kyle Hess obtained the pitching rubber from Armando Galarraga's "Almost Perfect" game.

Again, nice pickup!

Thanks. for the small connection it has to history I feel I got it cheap. I took a gamble on it and got lucky.

That's a really nice piece to add. Glad the gamble paid off, congrats!
