Repairing a number on a jersey

I have a game worn college soccer jersey which appears to have the back number heat pressed on. A portion of one of the numbers was slightly raised when I received it & I was thinking of using some sort of adhesive to glue the portion back down.

Does anyone know of an appropriate way of doing this? or some sort of adhesive or glue that won't harm the fabric?

Sincityson, if the number you are refering to is made of vinyl or film it may be possible to re "heat seal" it back down. if you have access to a local company that does athletic lettering, they should have a heat seal machine to do this.
