Hi...I am hoping that this is a 1977 Jays, Ault gamer...and I believe it does date to after 1976, but that is as far as I can tell. Any help would be appreciated.

It is almost 35 inches long...125 signature model K48.

Thanks!

Definitely a 1977-79 model -- can't pinpoint it any more specifically than that.

Hi--

The bat is from the 1977-1979 label period, which would make it an Ault Blue Jays bat, with whom he played in 1977, 1978, and 1980...You might be able to get a better look at the knob in person to determine the x'ed out number, as his uniform number with the Jays in 1977 and 1978 was 25.

Good Luck

Thanks Jeff and Mike!

Yes...#25 is written on the knob. Shouldn't there also be stamped numbers or lettering on the knob or barrel end?

No... H&B stopped stamping model numbers in the knob after the 1975 season. Starting in 1976, model numbers were stamped into the barrel. Rawlings continues stamping knobs, but H&B stopped with those Bicentennial year bats.

You can go to batreference.com and click on H&B and then click 1977-79. It will explain why your bat is a 1977-79 pro model.

Give it another shot! There is actually one way to tell for sure if a bat is from 1977. In late 76, H&B added a dash after Genuine on the barrel. They removed this, however, in mid 77. If you see a 77-79 with a dash next to GENUINE - like so then it is for sure from 1977.
