Alfonso Soriano Rangers Sam Bat 2005

Guys I need some help from some of the Bat experts on here. If you get a chance I would like to get some opinions on this Soriano Bat that Ive won on an auction on ebay. It matches up to the style and model AS12 as most of his other bats of this timeframe, and Ive bought from Celebzdirect22, and feel pretty optimistic of most of his lots. Thanks in advance for the help..

No handle tape or evidence of there having been handle tape that was removed.

is it possible to say that this was a team index bat made into a gamer?

This appears to be a legit pro bat probably ordered by Soriano. Would be easier to know for sure if the factory markings on the barrel end were visible.

This bat does not have Soriano's correct use characteristics. (Criss-cross handle tape, pine tar near the center label, staining of the tape and lower handle with use.)

From what I can see from the auction photos I don't believe it would even be possible to determine what player actually used the bat.

Bingo. That's a legit bat that I would guess was used by someone else. Doesn't even have his signature pine tar pattern.

No, thats a real game issued Soriano. Nice bat just EXTREMELY doubtful it was used by Fons. I have an extensive collection of his bats through the years. His consistency on tape and pine tar is amazing.

It's a shame that they don't take returns. There's absolutely no reason you should be stuck with a bad bat and it certainly shouldn't be up to you to find out who may have used it.

You should return it. Ebay allows returns, regardless of seller's policy. You thought you were buying a legit game-used Soriano bat, and clearly it's not, so I think it's fair to ask for a refund.
