MLB Auctions now has GU lineup card from game 6 of the WS. Up to $6110 but still hasn't met the reserve!?

Derek Jeters line-up card from his 3000 hit game sold through Steiner for $20,000. The guy who bought it tried to re-sell it through Steiner Auctions a few months ago and it went as high as around $8000. I called Steiner to see what the reserve was since it didn't reach it and the guy told me what the owner paid for it. I thought I was nuts for putting $5000 bid on it.

Doesn't even look that "GU" or marked up. Id want to see more notations, marks, changes etc. For that kind of money

Exactly, even names seem printed on, not hand-written? Up to $8000, still not at reserve

That card is worth a lot of money. If I was a Sox Fan, the card would be a cornerstone for any collection. Are you both saying it is not real?

Def not saying that. Although for a world series gamer you'd think there would be more notations. The one I do have for a nonimportant game has circles, checks, scratch outs, replacements, diff color inks etc.
So, no, I'm not saying its fake but I'm saying for the price I'd like to see more game use. Just like a beat up, grass/mud stained football jersey usually commands a premium for the same cleaner jersey.

Oh yes, I think it's real given it's from MLB, but at $10,000, and still not at reserve I guess I'm just a bit flabbergasted. I can think of a lot of other things I'd like for $10,000. Good luck though to whoever wins it. Sounds like that guy who bought the Jeter card had buyer's remorse and couldn't even get half his money back....

I like "lineup card" for the "one of one" collectability - there is only ONE of them for each team for that particular game.

And sometime, the visiting team destroy their lineup card -- which made the home-team version a little more attractive.

I started with just one about five years ago - and now I have over 100s of them. And the most valuable (to me at least) are about 30 of them from Mariano Rivera's saves. And I was lucky enough to get Mo to signed and inscribed the save number on each one of them.

Now I just have to find the right time to have them matted and framed.

Well, I guess $12,000 doesn't get it. I'm sure the reserve is at $20,000 like the Jeter line-up card. I guess we'll see if they try at selling it again. Way too much.
