Picked up this jersey recently. Based on the tagging I thought it may be a Jim Slaton 1984 road jersey, but the lack of name or nameplate on the back leads me to believe it is not an 84. Anybody have any ideas as to what I have?

Re: Angels Goodman Jersey
This could be Tom Morgan's jersey. He was pitching coach from 1981 to 1983. Is there any evidence of a previous NOB? if you put it up to the light you should see an outline of the letters. The NOBs on the Angels road jerseys were sewn in a vertical arch pattern. The number on the back of your jersey seems positioned correctly for a NOB, leading me to believe one may have been there. You can also check the right sleeve to see if there is any evidence of a small circulate patch (25th Anniversary). This would indicate it's a 1985 jersey, which would be coach Moose Stubbing.Comment

Re: Angels Goodman Jersey
I own several early 80s Angels road and home jerseys and am still trying to figure out a puzzling thing with the Goodmans. I have road jerseys that have double stitched grey inner sleeves and some that have the single stitched navy blue inner sleeve. The outside sleeve seams are also different. Forsch #43 (1981-84 & 1986), Kison #24 (1980–1984) and Byron McLaughlin #27 (1983). Perhaps 1983 was the year with the double stitched grey inner sleeves? The Candeleria #45 and Sconiers #6 are 1985 jerseys.Comment
