I picked up this Jimmy Rollins Icara model bat from JT Sports earlier today. Thanks to forum member (loanapprover) for pointing it out to me!

Just posting because I thought the tape with game info on it was interesting since I've never seen a bat with it before. The Phillies equipment manager indicated that this is what the MLB Authenticator does with cracked bats in conjunction with the team's Merchandising Department. Another thing that was interesting was that the bat was never officially authenticated.

Anyone else ever pick up a bat or any other item with an authenticator's game notes taped to it?

Must be a Phillies thing so thanks for sharing. Looks like yours got officially authenticated as well.

Dang, never saw the Brown bat. Thought about buying the Rollins bat. It still shows on his site though....

I picked up a Matt Adams Cardinals bat that had about a 10 inch length of athletic tape with notes on it, but it was running length wise along the barrel so I took it off. No pics.

I know people sometimes question how well Alex Rodriguez tracks his milestone bats. I have this home run bat with tape noting that it was used from August 2 through August 7 (2005) in series against Cleveland and Toronto (The Elite hologram actually overlaps the tape). This information is included on the Elite LOA.
