And, if so, who is the Asian player in the back row?
With the SF logo and the fact that this piece came from a San Fran estate, I thought I had a silver bullet. But I can't for the life of me find any id on a player of Asian descent in the PCL

I don't see DiMaggio in that photo....I'm not sure I've ever seen that logo for the Seals either. All the guys look pretty young so this could be San Francisco University...and with the integration (japanese player and one guy looks polynesian) it's most likely a college photo.

Here's a picture of Vince

Disregard my last post....after a few minutes of googling it appears that you may indeed have a very special photo.

The asian player appears to be a Hawaiian man named Herman Wedemeyer who some think may have played for the Seals in the PCL, but others say he did not.

Check this website out...

No DiMaggio in the photo, but this may be very special indeed.

Thanks! I sent the site owner the picture. Maybe she can confirm it- I had though the piece earlier but the 40's would fit the SF logo on the uniforms if it's indeed a Seals picture.

Looking at other pictures of Wedemeyer on the internet it appears as though the polynesian looking fellow in the front row is Wedemeyer. Not sure who the asian player in the back row would be.
