in the Goldin Auction that closes tonight?

This is NOT a question of what you are bidding on since some items might be out of your price range. It is a question of what your favorite piece is regardless of price, etc.

Obviously, I have to answer the question that way anyway since I am not allowed to bid. I think for me, my favorite pieces are the Brady and Rodgers jerseys (because it is so hard to find legitimate ones with provenance) and the Nolan Ryan and Mike Piazza jerseys since they are so cool.

Any other thoughts…..

I love the Jackie Robinson bat as that is such a significant piece of history. Out of my price range for sure but I think as a bat collector that is my favorite piece to look at!!!! :D

I definitely understand that comment. It is pretty amazing.

My favorite is the Gordie Howe 1950's "sweater". I also really like the GU-10 Griffey Jr. bat.

Hey Michael,

I'm guessing you are not from Denver. Is that a fair assumption?

I personally met Walter Blount III in Queens NY to get his bat. It was the first time that I obtained a historic game used item like that from the man who received it directly from the player (58 years ago!)
Truly historic, especially considering his family's record and history in the civil rights movement.
so while I view every lot as my child, I guess I love child #1 the best

Considering you have told me before that you thought I acted like your child (or at least A child), I'm a little hurt by that statement ;)

Some of my favorites...

First of all the Jackie Robinson bat, I named my first son Robinson for crying out loud.

After that... The tiger woods golf bag, barry bonds rookie jersey, hat, spikes, and glove. Oh, and the LT jersey. I could go on...

I really like the Musial cleats and bat. The Wacha and Beltran jerseys are great also!

Doug,

I almost forgot about the Bonds jersey. Kind of cool that he wore number 7 before he switched to 24. Kind of reminds me of the fact that Mantle wore number 6 before switching to 7.

I think the Tiger Woods golf bag is great. Very rare to find a tournament used, signed golf bag of his, super rare and I think a great investment even at 3k right now (no I did not consign it!)
