I am not wanting cases, just mounting the helmets, and preferably not costing a fortune. Thoughts?
Any ideas on how to mount helmets to walls.

Re: Any ideas on how to mount helmets to walls.
I was actually at a bar that had a ton of helmets hanging. They had a hook that was mounted on the wall and came out a few inches and back up vertically so the helmet just sat on the hook. Not sure where they got them from but hopefully that gives you an idea of something that might work.Comment

Re: Any ideas on how to mount helmets to walls.
So, if I understand you correctly...
you want to mount the helmets (football, I'm guessing?)
- directly to the wall
- sideways, with nothing under them, for a "floating effect"
- in a way that is cheap
- but also will not damage or permanently alter them?
off this top of my head this is what I came up with...
(1) 3/8" top plate connector
(2) drywall screws
(1) 3/8-16 threaded rod (cut to desired length with hacksaw)
(1) 3/8-16 hex nut
(2) large conical metal washers
(2) large foam washers
(1) large flat metal washer
(1) 3/8-16 wing nut
First, attach top plate connector to wall with drywall screws,
then insert threaded rod and secure with hex nut.
Finally, mount helmet with rod going through ear hole in following order:
>conical washer (curved side away from wall)
>foam washer
>helmet
>foam washer
>conical washer (curved side towards wall)
>flat washer
>wing nut
Should be able to make these mounts for less than $5 eachComment
