View Full Version : Marlins Collectors Please Help w/ This Jersey

Hi All,

I am trying to find out if the tagging, or lack thereof, is proper for this jersey listed as a 2004 Marlins GW jersey. I really do not have the knowledge to determine if this is the real deal or isn't. I really appreciate your input and thank you in advance.

Tagging would indicate a 2003 jersey recycled for 2004

As a longtime marlins collector I can attest to this jersey being as legit. 2005 was the year that the team started using the strip tag (with year) and the brand was Majestic. 2004 was the last year they used Russell....marlinsfan1993 back me up bro, ive also bought from this guy before too

All of my 2003 and 2004 Marlins jersey's I own are tagged like the Gonzalez. The Marlins used no team tagging in 2003 and 2004. There would be no way to tell if the jersey is from 2003 or 2004 besides by the World Series Patch.

The Marlins resumed team tagging in 2005.

You are correct i just noticed the Russell Athletic tag at the bottom. I notice how the regular script not the "italic script" also the slight difference in the bird design and coloring.

Jersey is from 2003 carried over to 2004.

As mentioned by other collectors on here the jersey is legit. The Marlins did tag some early season 2003 with player last name and number found under the Russell tag. My 2003 Luis Castillo black jersey is tagged this way. Actually come to think go it I've only seen this kind of tagging on the black jerseys from that year.
