Brewers say #42 gamers not available, plan to use next year.

I found this a little strange when the Brewers Authentics team answered a guy looking for a #42 jersey saying they are holding on to them for next year.

Are teams ever known for doing this? It seems odd since they don't even know if they will have it as a home game.

For lesser known players, it likely costs the team more to order the jersey than they expect to make selling them. It might be a logical cost-saving measure to reuse the #42 jerseys until they're deemed unusable.

Well, it does make sense for the #42 jerseys, more than any other jerseys. Don't have to switch out numbers or nameplates, just find the guy the size he needs lol.
