I can't speak for the A's jerseys, but the numbers on the back of that Cardinals jersey appear to be too close together. In 2000, the digits on the back were roughly 1 1/2" apart -- a gap about as wide as the numbers are thick. They've been creeping closer since then and today are about 3/4" apart. If you look at photos of Mac in 2000 and compare them to the jersey at auction, you can see the difference. If I were you, I'd call SCP and ask them to measure the distance between the back digits. If the answer isn't at least 1 3/8", that would be a big red flag.
